A New Dawn at Bilva Farms: The Birth of Dhatri
At Bilva Farms, every life is cherished — not as a possession, but as a blessing. Over the past months, Gauri, our gentle and graceful cow, has been the center of our quiet hopes and prayers. She had faced many seasons of uncertainty, her womb carrying both our patience and our faith. We never sought her for milk or offspring — only for her presence, her nurturing energy, and the quiet power she brought to the land through her dung (ಸಗಣಿ) and urine (ಗಂಜಲ), which nourish our soil and sustain our organic fields through Jeevamruta.
And then, one serene morning, nature fulfilled what love had already prepared. Gauri gave birth to a beautiful female calf — Dhatri. Her name, meaning the one who nurtures, felt divinely chosen. She arrived not as a mere addition to the herd, but as a symbol of grace, perseverance, and the natural rhythm that governs Bilva Farms.
The entire farm came alive that day. Krishna and Kapila, the two older calves, observed curiously welcoming their new sister. Gauri, radiant and calm, stood protectively beside Dhatri, her eyes glowing with a quiet pride only a mother could hold.
We celebrated this moment not with grand gestures, but with gratitude. A small puja was performed at the farm, followed by an offering at the temple — a token of thanks to the divine forces that guide life's gentle unfoldings.
For us at Bilva Farms, Dhatri's birth is not just the story of a new calf. It is a reminder that nature rewards care over expectation, and that every act of patience and kindness ripens into something beautiful in its own time.
As Dhatri takes her first playful steps across the green fields of Bilva, we're reminded why we do what we do — to live in rhythm with nature, to celebrate life in its simplest forms, and to allow love, above all else, to guide our hands and hearts.
